The mornings that begin with an early chill are becoming a rarity. Temperatures in the upper Colorado River Valley along Arizona’s west coast are flirting with the mid 80s. Can summer be far away? Are you ready for weeks of triple digit temperatures?

Now is the time to prepare. Now is the time to call the professionals at AIRzona Heating and Cooling Comfort Solutions, LLC. Now is the time to ensure that your home is a worry free oasis when the temperatures soar.

Our professionals are trained in all aspects of the maintenance and repair of HVAC and air conditioning systems. This includes heating and AC split systems, duct-free split systems, zoned systems, and systems with humidity control.

The cleaning or replacement of filters are the simplest, and surprisingly, most often overlooked task that ensures trouble free operation of the system. Here in the desert southwest filters quickly become dusty, dirty, and clogged. This restricts air flow which will reduce the effectiveness of your air conditioner. In our dusty climate changing the filter monthly should be considered to be preventive maintenance.

Another common issue that affects the efficiency of air conditioning system is clogged or dirty vents. Having an HVAC professional checking the vents throughout your home or business when the system is serviced is highly recommended. You might be surprised to see how much dirt and other debris collects in the vents. And at the same time the professional can assure you that vents are open fully, which will improve air flow.

An AC tune-up will include a multi-point inspection. Consider the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. This will also allow for making needed minor repairs before they become major issues.

And if you do not have a central air conditioning system, but instead have ductless or zoned system the technician can check to make sure that the area surrounding the unit is free of debris. A good rule of thumb is to have at least two feet of clear space around the unit to ensure adequate airflow. This has the added advantage of ensuring that the system is not clogged with debris such as leaves or branches.

One more point to consider as you give thought to the long months of summer, and to an AC system that will be operating 24/7 for weeks at a time. If you have an older system it might be time for an upgrade. Replacing your entire cooling system may seem like an unnecessary expensive think of it as investment in peach of mind. And it can also be considered an investment that adds value to your home. Keep in mind that AC system technology has made dramatic advancement in recent years. A new unit is will be much more energy efficient than older models and as a result your utility bills will decrease.
